Deboche to Dingboche
While the hike from Deboche to Dingboche was longer than some of our other hikes, it was broken up by a visit to Lama Geshi's house, where all team members were blessed and adorned with a kata and a red string necklace. Climbers are instructed to wear the necklace for the duration of the trip to bring them good health and a safe climb. Lama Geshi conducted a ceremony by singing blessings and throwing handfuls of dry rice out over our group. It was another crystal clear day for the rest of the hike, with great views of Ama Dablam and a quick glimpse of Everest and Lhotse early on in the day. We are now resting in Dingboche and everyone is feeling healthy and happy to be here. The teahouse was filled with excited faces when it was announced that we could sleep in for our rest day tomorrow.
